This is a private blog, kept for three reasons: 1. to freeze and focus the daily overflow of information and experiences for future reference, 2. to hone composition skills in Polish, German and English, possibly other languages some day, 3. to revisit my teenage habit of keeping a diary

Woody keeps feeding
Woody Allen keeps feeding cinemagoers with his nearly mass-produced productions, in recent years shot usually in Europe (London, Barcelona). Match Point, Cassandra's Dream, Vicky Christina Barcelona or Whatever Works were all entertaining, well-written stories and I expected nothing more from his latest You Will Meet a Tall, Dark Stranger. I can't say I wanted to rush out of the screening room halfway through the film, but it really badly lacked freshness. What I also found discouraging was that it somehow failed to tell a coherent story, jumping from character to character, from eccentricity to moral lapse, from failed romance to bad judgment. It's somehow all over the place, spread too thin, leading everywhere and nowhere. While still a decent Allen, Tall, Dark Stranger can leave a true fan feel shortchanged, if not totally disappointed.
